Hello! I am James Gernhard, currently a music education major at ODU. I transferred from TCC in the fall of 2022 after receiving my associates degree in music and am excited to continue on my higher education journey! I’m a bit older than the usual student, not too far away from 40 now, but I feel like my journey is just beginning. I spent time in the Navy, then worked in a chemistry lab for the USDA, finally deciding to move back home to Virginia with my family and pursue music.

I would love to graduate here and move on to teaching elementary school children the joy of music!
