This past week, I wrote about heuristics and how they are used, along with the negative side-effects each heuristic tends to have. I learned one overarching theme, which is: observation of people and situations alone do not tell us the full truth. Only a glimpse. This reminded me of my time in Sociology, where I learned there is always a bigger picture and a grander perspective that we are not capable of catching initially. This art by Salvador Dali depicts this idea, something appearing one way and then turning out to be different.
