Engaging in Communities
The value of engaging your community and the global community can be seen in many way. One value and importance is gaining a information on other peoples life and life styles. It can open your eyes to other culture. It can also allowing for better understanding of others around you.
Interpersonal Communication
While in this course we were given the chance to do different actives that allowed us interpersonal communication. One of these opportunities was discussion boards. In these discussion boards we would all share about the same topic. Being able to see my peers reactions or views to different topics allowed me to see different points of views.
I have grown by using these options by allowing me to see other views and the way they feel about things. I did find it difficult at first because I had a fear of being incorrect in front of so many people but I was able to over come it and move forward. I learned from this by allowing myself to have space to mess up. I would make changes to the way I approached topics.
Presentational Speaking
In English, give a brief 2-3-line description of any presentational speaking activities you completed this semester inside or outside of class for or related to your Spanish learning. Include a recording of one of these speaking activities. (See Modes of Communication link for description and examples).
One of the presentation speaking actives I did this semester was apart of Spanish 101. It was flip grid. We did five in total. When completed these we had to record ourselves having a conversation with our professor that was already prerecord.
In these presentations I feel I struggled memorizing the correct way to pronounce the words I was trying to say. I grew by practicing and working hard to do better. In the future I will try to practice more to become even better. I was about to excel at remembering the words I was attempting to say.
Presentational Writing
In this course we did quizzes and test that had open ended question sometimes. We would have to type in the answer to the questions in complete sentences.
This for me was very difficult. The correct spelling was hard to remember. I did grow each time though by studying harder and practicing more. I could do better next time by pushing myself harder to remember the correct spellings.
Interpretive Listening
One of the things I listened to this semester was a short video about the differences of campus life in Spanish speaking countries. It was fun to watch and compare the differences.
I found the differences very interesting and fun to watch. It caught my attention well. In the future I would like to watch more of those.
Interpretive Reading
The most challenging thing in this course was the test as a whole. I believe this is because of the way they were structured did not work well with me. Although others may have found them easy, I did not. in the future I would like to work harder to improve myself. Each assignment helped me grow in a different way.
