Review the articles linked with each individual motive. Rank the motives from 1 to 7 as the motives that you think make the most sense (being 1) to the least sense (being 7). Explain why you rank each motive the way you rank it.

There are seven motives that are identified as Entertainment, Politics, Vengeance, Boredom, Recognition, Money, and Many Causes. Entertainment is considered the most prevalent motive as many individuals commit cybercrimes for fun or to bully others from behind a screen. Money is the second most common motivation as stolen information can be used to blackmail or sold for financial gain. Political reasons are ranked third since individuals or governments may leak information for political or financial advantage. The fourth motive is vengeance, as some may seek to harm their ex-partners through cybercrimes. Individuals may engage in hacking or theft to demonstrate their skills and dominance, ranking fifth. Boredom comes in sixth place as some people utilize their free time to learn hacking techniques and steal data. The seventh and final motive is Many Reasons, which often has one core motive and a few minor ones that support but do not appear to be related to the primary cause.
