My name is Gavin Jones. I am a senior at ODU, majoring in Cybercrime. I am from Central Virginia, just outside of Richmond. I started at ODU as an on-campus freshman. I realized that the online platform was more conducive to how I like to learn and complete my work. It also gives me flexibility in hours with employment. I first took an interest in Cybersecurity in high school. I had the opportunity to complete a summer work-based learning program with the I.T. department in my school system. Also, I had the opportunity complete a Cybersecurity externship.

I have enjoyed learning and growing in my major courses.

This fall, I had the opportunity to complete an internship with the Virginia State Police.

Following graduation, I look forward to securing an entry-level position in the cybersecurity field, while continue to learn and grow in my career.
