As most people know, mostly everything in our society today comes with costs and benefits. It is no surprise that developing cybersecurity programs also has its costs and benefits. Let’s start off with the reasons why an individual should set up a cybersecurity program for their business. The major reason is that setting up a cybersecurity program can provide protection for all groups (businesses, organizations, individuals, etc.) from hackers and all cyber attackers. All sensitive data, personal information, and all other forms of confidential information will be protected; it is especially important that customer/client information is kept secured. This will earn the trust of current customers and earn the trust from future customers. Not only will it protect data and information, but it will also help in saving a business money. If a cyber attacker is successful in hacking into the system of a business, they are most likely able to access data that will allow them to steal money. On top of that, it will prevent a business from having to spend money on repairing the damages caused by an attack. Cyber criminals these days are only getting better and smarter with their hacking techniques so without the presence of a cybersecurity program, makes a business extremely vulnerable and seen as an easy target. However, like it was stated earlier, setting up a cybersecurity program has its costs/disadvantages. Like almost everything in the world, these programs can be somewhat pricey. Businesses would need to come up with a budget plan in order to implement a program that would ensure top security. Installation of the program will also add to the total cost. Once installed, all employees will have to learn and get used to  the new system, but since cybersecurity and technology is always developing, it will be needing constant monitoring and learning. Despite the costs, it is still important that businesses invest in developing a cybersecurity program for the protection of all of their confidential information.
