Engineers are essential in the cyber network in the world because they are the individuals that develop programs for networks systems that will provide protection against any future cyber attacks. Hackers are constantly getting smarter and better with techniques so engineers are required to constantly update their software anytime a weakness is found in their systems. Engineers are also the ones who will make cyber networks safer by using a variety of techniques and technologies such as firewalls, encryption, antivirus and anti-malware software, and user authentication. Firewalls are used to regulate who has access to networks and protect them from malicious traffic. Antivirus and anti-malware software scan for malicious viruses and block them from entering the network. User authentication is a process of verifying users before they can access the network, helping to ensure that only authorized users can access the network. Constant updating and anti-cyber attacker programs allow cyber networks to be much safer for everybody to use.

The overlap between criminal justice and cybercrime is ultimately how to find these cyber criminals and how they should be dealt with. Due to the advancement of  technology being a more recent thing in our world, cybercrime is a relatively new field of crime. People within the criminal justice field are now forced to keep up with cybercrime techniques such as phishing, hacking, etc. Cybercrime investigations will often be more difficult because it will require them to have an understanding of computer systems and networks. Not only that, but cyber criminals compared to normal criminals can be much harder to find because they are not physically committing the crime. They are also able to hide their identity or can act as someone else. Overall, cybercrime prosecutors must understand that cybercrime is a different level of crime than regular crime and must come up with a way to deal with it.
