My scores on the NEO personality test correlate with my personality, in some ways more than others. My scores were the following: N-24 (average), E-28 (high), O- 27 (high), A-41 (very high), C-25 (average). When it comes to Neuroticism, I scored average. I agree with this because I sometimes do feel anxiety, and I do worry, however it is not a regular thing for me to feel this way. In extraversion I scored high. I do not agree with this score somewhat, because I do prefer to be alone rather than being around people. I can be around people for a certain amount of time before I get drained and want to go back home and be alone. I can spend time with people for a few hours and feel okay before I want to do it again. My score in openness I thought I would have scored higher. I am a very open person and usually like to try new things or I am open to exploring doing things different ways. I scored very high in agreeableness. I do not like controversy or confrontation, so I tend to avoid it at all costs. I am also a very cooperative person. Lastly, in conscientiousness, I scored average. I am organized in some aspects of my life. Sometimes I am all over the place, however I always get things done and make sure they are done well.

I see myself as caring, generous, friendly, and outgoing. I also chose these words because I think my friends would also describe me as such.

Some life values that are important to me is being able to get an education, and being mentally healthy. These values are important to me, and it is why I want to become a school psychologist. I want to help people be able to go to school in a safe environment and assist in getting the best education that they can. I decided to continue on to higher education because that is the norm, and also because I knew there were better opportunities in life if you have a higher education. That is the case for most things but not all of them. My parents always told me how proud they are of me and I always hear them talking about my academic achievements to other people which also meant that they were proud of me, and that is what keeps me going. Another reason why I decided to continue on to higher education is because I saw my dad and mom continue to get degrees, and I wanted that for myself as well. My peers/teachers are also always supportive of what I want to do when I talk to them about my career goals. This is very motivating to me because when people are supportive of what you want to do, it is a big motivator to keep pushing for your dreams.

Upon reviewing the objectives in the syllabus, I took note of a few that will aid me in my future endeavors. First, being able to make connections and integrating learning between my courses and outside experiences is always important to me. I always get excited when something I learn in one of my classes relates to something that comes up in real life. Sometimes, we don’t always get to see that happen. When that occurs, it gives me a chance to talk about what I’ve learned, and apply it to real life. Also, if I get to see something I learned in one course in another course, it allows me to better grasp the concept. Developing understanding of people from other cultures and understanding cultural diversity is something that everyone should do. Understanding these things myself will allow me to pass on my knowledge to others. Also, it will aid me in interacting with people from different cultures, not only in day to day life, but in my future career as a school psychologist. During this course I hope to learn more about other cultures psychological processes and how they can be implemented with other cultures. To be successful in this course, I will try to relate what I learn to real life instances to better grasp concepts, and try to see assignments as more than just assignments.

https://www.cultofpedagogy.com/code-switching/ I chose the concept of code switching upon reading about intercultural sensitivities. Code switching not only applies to speaking, but acting as well. Being able to code switch is real talent because when it is happening the person sometimes is not aware that they are doing it. Code switching is a way to keep ones cultural identity, while speaking, and also a way to act appropriately according to the culture.
