Artifact 5

Another archive I picked was module 3. In this archive I was to ask people if they feel opposites attract and then ask another group if similarity leads to attraction. In this I found that a lot of people had mixed emotions. I thought this activity was quite interesting, this is due to the fact that I had always heard the opposite attract scenario but never paid much attention to similarity leads to attract ration. I found this strange because when I look into relationships I always try to find similarities but at the same time relationships need to have differences so that they are not exactly the same to keep the relationship alive. I picked this because it made me think about what I want in a relationship someone exactly like me or someone the complete opposite.

The picture I included was of 2 magnets in the shape of a heart because for a magnet opposites attract. When I was a kid I remember someone telling me love is like a magnet and that opposites would always attract to each other.

Artifact 4

I chose module 6 as was of my top 5 archives. In this artifact I learned about my own personal traits. These traits are very characteristic of me and how I react in certain situations. I tend to know myself pretty well with certain traits because some of them are ones I have been working on for a while. However, the assignment was meant to see if we change from situation to situation regarding the issue. I like this assignment because it had me take a step back after I wrote down my five traits and then apply them to experiences I had later on. This artifact was very insightful to me.

The photo included my 5 traits. In order for it to more viewable I have written what it says as well.

Trait 1- funny

  • At work I love to joke around with my colleagues and make them look at random things and then tell them I made you look. It always helps to keep everyone in a good mood when all they want to do is go home. This is a common occurrence for me and everyone can’t help but laugh. This behavior relates well with my funny behavior.

Trait 2 –optimistic

  • When my sister was giving birth my mom repeatedly stated my sister would have to have a c-section due to complications but I was positive and reassuring her that she would not need it and in the end she did not. I kept a level head and was able to calm her down. I feel my behavior was consistent with my optimistic behavior.

Trait 3 -hard-worker

  • When playing sports and working and going to school I manage to do well in all three aspects because I put the hard work in and the long hours. I had class in the homework to do that morning, then work followed by me running to go to work. It was a long day but I was determined to get it all done. This shows that my behavior is that of a hard-worker.

Trait 4- emotional

  • I avoid talking about things and confrontation because when I get upset regardless if I am mad or sad I cry. When getting into an argument with my sister I found myself angry yet I was crying when I wasn’t say but angry. I can be very emotional this behavior is one I completely agree with that I am.

Trait 5 –compassionate

  • When it comes to my younger cousins they all know if they need someone to talk to they can come to me whether it’s about their parents or something in school doesn’t matter. My younger cousin was mad at her parents due to her getting on her case about a grade. I listened and then gave her my point of view from it while also being there for her and not picking a side. I feel this behavior trait was spot on with who I am.

I also chose module 7 as a top 5. In this module we were asked some survey questions and we were to rank them on a scale of 1-4 on if we agreed or not. I learned in this assignment that a lot of times when we fill out survey or have a point of view on things does not always mean our actions match up to them. For example I said that working out regularly was important for good health and yet when asked if I did it I said no. it is one thing to know it is important but another to actually do it. I picked this assignment because it was a real eye opener in the beginning I was just answering questions but as it progressed I realized that I need to do more and not just say it.

I included this picture because we need to practice what we preach it is one thing to say something it is a whole other thing to actually do it. This is something I founds a lot of people including myself have a hard time with.

Artifact 2

In the module 12 archive we learned about different forms of aggression. We learned the differences between aggressions such as survival, duty or job responsibility, harm to living versus nonliving things, instinctual behavior, acts involving animals other than humans, killing for sport, inaction, accident versus intention, self-injury, covert act, actual damage versus no physical damage, and self-defense. I realized in this assignment that there are different types of aggression. Before this I just clumped aggression into one set thing. However, after it I realized that there is different type for example someone killing someone banging there racket on the floor after a loss are two very different types of aggression. I chose this archive because I found it to be very interesting and caused me to think about what I view as aggression and it changed my point of view on people who I felt were aggressive.

I chose this image because it shows that aggression can be different for everyone. There are different types of aggression and we cannot clump people into one set group.

Artifact 1

I picked module 4 for my next archive. In this archive we were to watch the news for extreme reports of extreme cases of behavior to show that the news can sometimes dramatizes what is really happening. Sometimes the media can make things appear bigger then what they are and cause people to worry more than they should. For example plane crashes they tend to make those worse and more often than they really are when car crashes occur more often than plane crashes but people have no issues with getting in cars as opposed to getting on planes. I thought this lab was intriguing because it had a video for us to actually watch instead of just reading paragraph after paragraph we were able to actually visually see a video of news doing exactly what the assignment claimed.

I chose this image because the lady stated that experts can be wrong and it made me take a step back and agree with her. No one person can know everything there is always an exception and anyone can be wrong.
