Self-regulation is keeping negative reactions or emotions under control. Whereas emotional intelligence is about knowing all of our emotions and reactions. To then react or express emotions in a certain/correct manner. Emotional intelligence means to me how I express my emotions whether it is positively or negatively. Then, using that to improve and better myself when controlling my emotions. An example would be when someone asks me to do something, and I am really tired or cannot be asked to do it I take a breather and do it quickly. It gets hard and in some cases I get irritated, but I try to just calm myself and do it. I could improve my EQ by not reacting too quickly I think that when I react too quickly I end up doing something dumb or just negative/wrong. It is hard, especially being in the moment, but I will learn from my mistakes and try again.
