Prime

example I clearly remember is people going into complete chaos back in 2001 when the

social platforms had a global outage, it seemed the world was going to end for some.

second is that with technology, we don’t even need to leave our house, everything is

cather to us, and i mean everything, which I think it will bite us in a near future,

becoming too dependable and not socializing can create more loneliness and

dependency, just look at AI, people are making friendships and even establishing

relationships.

2- Safety needs can come in many ways as well, technology is a great part of our daily

living security, can be from home security like a smart home hub with notifications and

everything, to us being so dependable on online banking. Additionally trying to establish

a healthy cyber environment safe from cyberbullying or becoming a target of fraud or

data breach , to us being responsible for updating softwares of personal and worked

electronics because threats have just become too unpredictable.3- Belongingness and Love Need is something I believe that many people have been

losing, there has been just a loss of interest in people to connect, have personal

relationships and be immune to receiving affection or compliments. Many people just

don’t care about being part of a community and become disconnected from the real

world. It is just a tricky need, some might not needed personally but are very interested

on what other people are doing, and look for a sense of belonging on there own way.

For me, I am all in, I love to connect with friends and family all over the world.

4- For Esteem needs is just the feeling that everyone reaches to achieve, having a

healthy self-esteem and healthy, and many lack of, being praise for achievements, how

far have we made, this is the main reason we all are in social media bragging, so we

can get a sense of gratification from everyone’s posts and counting the likes of who we

think are our true friends, or the ones that care to look and comment. But it can backfire

as well with negative feedback we received, so we have to be careful about what we

wish for.

I use self-esteem as a tool at work, it empowers the workforce because they think you

care about what they do, and it helps create a better working environment of respect.

5- The last need is Self-Actualization needs, this is the last level and most important,

because it represents one’s full potential, when one achieve everything that we have put

our mind to, it can be small goals as well, I am still working on my cherry on top which is

graduation form ODU. It can be anything, personnel, financial or new skills for sure like

learning to play guitar. Getting familiar with technology and their capabilities can

empower people to grow immensely, just look at all the self-millianers related to people

creating new and improved software or AI.

For what we can tell, all levels in Maslow’s Hierarchy Need’s can have a good and a

bad side for sure, depending on each individual, but it is crucial that we set eyes in

preserving ourselves and maximizing technology in our advantage finding a good and

stable balance to subsist with technological advances.

There are so many ways I feel Maslow’s Hierarchy relates to myself, the human need to be connected by either personal or work related, just have become a big part of a routine I can honestly say, it will be really hard to break or get rid off.
