When I applied psychoanalytic theory to “The Goblin Market,” I really struggled to find one or two main points as there was so much text to analyze.  I ultimately decided to look for examples of mirroring between the two sisters, as well as id, ego and super ego.  This was one of the easier essays to complete because there were so many examples I could pull from the text to support the theory.  If I were to build upon this essay I would also apply the theory of deconstruction to “The Goblin Market” as there were distinct binary opposites between the two girls, one of which could have good and bad.  It also could have been argued that there was a presence of an aporia based on my argument that Lizzie and Laura could have been the same person
