{"id":359,"date":"2022-12-12T16:28:08","date_gmt":"2022-12-12T16:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/gpinternships\/?p=359"},"modified":"2022-12-12T16:28:11","modified_gmt":"2022-12-12T16:28:11","slug":"grassroots-third-party-internship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/gpinternships\/2022\/12\/12\/grassroots-third-party-internship\/","title":{"rendered":"Grassroots Third Party Internship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The United States Equalitarian Party (USEP) is seeking two Norfolk VA based interns for calendar year 2023 (1 for Feb-Jun, and 1 for Jul-Nov).&nbsp; This experience will provide an opportunity for participants to understand the requirements and challenges associated with starting a grassroots third party competitor to the current Democratic and Republican party duopoly (e.g., gaining familiarity with Federal Election Committee requirements, setting up an LLC, getting trademark protections, determining staffing \/ administrative needs, promoting party goals, etc.).&nbsp; This is an unpaid entry level position focused on simultaneously helping the intern and party\u2019s presence grow in concert with one another. &nbsp;Interns would be requested to invest 10-15 hours a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interns should be energetic self-starters interested in helping the USEP and its modest organizational staff grow in size and visibility.&nbsp; Interns will be requested to perform a variety of functions aimed at increasing the online and public presence of the party.&nbsp; This could include a wide range of administrative tasks such as checking, drafting, and answering correspondence, maintaining the party\u2019s webpage, promoting party messaging through social media, and promoting \/ processing donations.
