While watching the dangerous ways ads women by Jean Kilbourne, one’s entire reaction was no shocker. Ads always have prioritized females because they know female ads sales. Not because of female empowerment, but because of sex sales. Females are seen as a sign of sex, especially in ads. Females in ads are seen as sex objects, nothing more or nothing less. It will not look “appealing” to others if they are not photoshopped to fit in this stereotype. Dehumanizing women to make ads sale is a complete understatement. Women are not seen as perfection until the use of the right technology. These ads teach little girls that it is okay to be submissive to men. Males do get photoshopped, not what others think it is, but for other reasons. When they are photoshopped, they receive muscles, not clear skin, and undoubtedly imaginary body types. When males take photo ads, they are seen as strong and brave. Even when it comes to little boys still in diapers, they are seen as strong and “manly.”

Meanwhile, young ladies are seen as the wild dumb type; they cannot sell their bodies; they won’t be anything. Another difference is how ads photoshop females. Females are photoshopped as thin clear skin. At a young age, males are taught to be the aggressor, and the females are seen as the submissive type always; this has been the stereotype for centuries.
