Artifact 5
The last module that we just did was an interesting selection for me. I chose 13 because I liked how the simulation was set up and what it’s purpose showed, which was a prisoner’s dilemma. The two subjects, both male, one white and the other one black were the prisoners being sentenced. I learned that no matter what plea I gave each prisoner, white or black, the black male always got the worst sentence. That obviously was a representation of the justice system in the real world. The image shows a representation of the difference between white and black suspects.

Artifact 4
Module 10 involved us going out and breaking a social norm. I chose this assignment because I have previously done in assignment similar in Intro to Psych where we had to break I believe was 3 social norms. I enjoy stuff like this because it is always interesting to me watching people’s reactions to the unnormal. I learned that in present day, the norm is wearing our masks and if you do not, that causes an uproar amongst people because they are fearful of the unknown, Covid is the unknown. My visual shows a comic version of someone not wearing their mask and the person who is following the rules upset because they aren’t practicing precautionary measures.

Artifact 3
In Module 8, we were discussing stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination, all fairly interesting but not new topics. We were given a list of groups and ethnicities and had to provide adjectives from the provided list. I chose this module as one of my 5 because it is important to me as an African American woman to prove all stereotypes false, black people are not angry, or deceptive, there are some who are but just like there are some black people who are this way, there are white, asian, and any other ethnicity. The learning experience I had was similar to the mindset that I already developed, this world is bias and categorizes all groups of people as being the same. I have a picture of a black woman meditating in a grass field, peaceful and unbothered. This negates the stereotype that all black women are angry.

Artifact 2
Module 3 was probably one of my most engaging archives that I completed because it required me to reach out to to others and ask their opinion on similarity and attraction. What I learned from this module was the perspectives of my friends and whether they basically believed opposites attract or similar attracts. My learning experience through this module was that everyone has different thoughts and that it is good to broaden my horizons. I say this because I feel as the similarity leads to attraction because each person has common interest therefore more to share, however a couple of my friends said otherwise and it was good to see why they thought so. The visual shows two people enjoying the same taste of music at a concert and holding hands, putting them into the similarity attracts category.

Artifact 1
My first Artifact that I chose was from Module 4, the media and heuristics module. I picked this because we had to watch an interesting video that displayed violence and poverty in more so low income communities and the fears of the individuals who lived outside of those communities. Then asked the role that the media plays in heuristics or someone’s interpretation of what they see. This was a representation of my learning experience because the video that the way the news channels reported all of the crimes and what not to their broadcasters is what made those rich older individuals fearful of the youth around them. The media made it as though all young people caused trouble, hence why the older population urged to move away from the ruckus. Below is an image of a set of police officers in the middle of a riot that was caused due to the unfortunate death of a black male. The media displays nothing but police brutality therefore many feel as though all cops are dangerous.
