Over the last decade, I have experimented with different personas online from me being inspired by others and wanting to try a new persona to see if I really like it or not. For this assignment, I wanted to do something I was familiar with before and become a news outlet for the Carolina Panthers on Instagram. This was how I stayed updated with every move the Panthers did and I followed accounts similar to mine just with different graphics and layouts to be inspired by how they delivered their news. I have always been interested in informing people about the latest news on whatever topic I chose. Not only with clean-looking graphics but every detail down to the use of just the right amount of emojis to having certain buzz words in caps to grab the attention of someone. With my social media persona assignment, I essentially created a news source/rumor report to update Carolina Panthers fans on all trades, coaching changes, releases, and signees to the team. Anyone who has Instagram and likes the Panthers could find a page like this useful if they don’t receive Panthers news anywhere else. It can be hard trying to follow everyone on multiple social media just to update you with news on the Carolina Panthers. My account simplifies that as you only would need to follow me if any transactions or updates happen to the Panthers. These accounts are usually more niche but with that comes a dedicated following base that interacts with you and your posts. This makes content and news for the viewer feel more organic since I would interact with them as well. Not only is this a great way to become a social media manager for a player or team, but it also builds experience if needed to work in a social media space which has increasingly become a part of most organizations today.
