How has design thinking influenced a product I use?

Design thinking usually betters the products we use. They are meant to listen to the users and to find a solution to the issues they had. Majority of people use Airbnb when staying somewhere away from home. The Airbnb team used design thinking when first starting out. People were hesitant to book places because the picture quality was bad and people didn’t know what they were staying at. As a result they went to New York and took high quality pictures of the homes. They believed the moment they met their users the trajectory of the business changed.

What are the connections between opportunities and planning?

I believe they go hand and hand. You can not have opportunities if you do not plan. Planning leads to having a higher chance of success. Thus leading to or creating more opportunities for yourself. If you fail to plan you might find a decline in opportunities and could possibly lead to no opportunities. I believe planning is a great skill to have and use throughout life. I believe it will create many opportunities for you.

What opportunities have I missed?

I believe I have tried my best to take every opportunity I have. I believe the one important opportunity I missed was doing well in high school. I never took high school too seriously and I ended with a 2.5 gpa which is not good at all. I never really thought it mattered too much until I applied for many colleges and got accepted to 3 of them. I applied to ODU and got declined. I believe I missed many opportunities by not caring enough in high school. I could have been accepted into the colleges I wanted first but I didn’t try and take the opportunities.  Luckily I am now trying my best to not take things for granted and take every opportunity I can.
