The reason I added this to my e-portfolio is because this is very important to me. I didn’t even think I was going to graduate High school. I can tell you I almost knew I wasn’t getting into college. I applied to many schools including ODU and all of them declined me but one college. I was also the first one in my family to ever go to college. That in itself is something to be proud of and I think it shows some of my story. In the beginning, I never thought I was going to make it to college since my grades were not good. Despite the hardships and personal battles, I faced I managed to get my GPA up to a 2.5 and managed to get into college. I am now proud to say I’m on the dean’s list, my current GPA is 3.5, and I am part of the Honors Society at ODU. I believe it’s important to give some of my story and background and despite being declined to ODU I managed to get accepted as a transfer and I flourished in college. That was something no one expected. I believe this shows my hard work and determination to be successful in college despite my poor high school career.
