What agency have you chosen to evaluate?

The agency I’ve chosen to evaluate is Christopher Newport University’s Community engage services. CNU offers students a chance to get involved in the community be providing services geared towards education, health awareness, food drives, and youth development. I’m going to focus on the P.A.S.S. program which provides tutoring and mentoring for elementary and middle schools in the city of Newport News.

How does this agency choice relate to your career interest?

This relates to my career choice because I want to counsel students in the public school system or help teens and families. I’ve always been passionate about helping kids make good choices in life. I struggled with make decision about my future when in high school and want to ensure students understand how high school cant impact their lives. Education is the great equalizer when it comes to financial stability.

How can your evaluation benefit the agency?

I want to evaluate the effectiveness of the programs within the community. Plus, see if the resources are there to make a difference in the community.
