I was given the option of moving into my college dorm a day in advance of the normal move-in date. This made my transition into dorm living much smoother and stress-free. Once all of my items were finally up in my room, I started to realize how many things I had forgotten at home. I had mainly forgotten some beloved unnecessary items, like some clothing items, decorations, and more miscellaneous things. It seemed so important then, but now it seems insignificant as I’ve been busy trying to make friends, explore the campus, and navigate classes. Making the decision to move-in a day early almost set me off on a wrong foot. I slept alone in my dorm and no one else was on my hall, and all the stress and loneliness associated with the entire move-in day is slowly starting to dissipate.
