I grew up in a small county called Camden right next to Elizabeth City, North Carolina. This is truly a small county, where you have to travel half an hour to do your grocery shopping. Driving through the county, all that one can see is farmland, churches, and small little houses spaced out from one another. My father built our house on two acres of land sitting on the Pasquotank River. This gave us the access to the only truly fun that you could have in such a small town. We were able to get a boat and jet skis, which led to lots of fun for my siblings and I. My weeks consisted of tubing, jet-skiing, and traveling to the city for dinner. While living in such a one stoplight town could be a bore, it offered a great environment for a child to grow up in. I’m glad that I had the opportunity to reside there as a kid, but I’m glad that I moved away before I became a teenager and truly got bored.
