Welcome!

I’m Gavin Ridges, a Senior at Old Dominion University, pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity. Hailing from Virginia Beach, I graduated from Kellam High School where my passion for sports, including wrestling, football, and basketball, taught me the value of teamwork, perseverance, and problem-solving—skills I bring to both my personal and professional life.

What excites me most about cybersecurity is the constant challenge it presents. I’m deeply driven to solve complex problems and apply innovative solutions in real-world scenarios. Whether it’s building custom gaming systems or analyzing network security, I approach every project with an analytical mindset and a commitment to excellence. Outside of my studies, you’ll likely find me either in the gym staying active or experimenting with the latest technology.

I’m currently focused on earning my Security+ and Network+ certifications to complement my degree. These certifications are more than just credentials for me—they represent a tangible way to prove my skills in a competitive industry. While the technical knowledge is essential, I understand that real-world application and minimizing errors in high-stakes environments are key to succeeding in cybersecurity.

Ultimately, I believe in continuous learning and adapting to new challenges. As I pursue my career, I’m excited to contribute to the field of cybersecurity by staying at the cutting edge of technological advancements and helping organizations protect their critical assets. I am eager to make an impact by leveraging my skills, knowledge, and enthusiasm for solving problems in this ever-evolving field.
