From most to least sense, I would go with multiple reasons, revenge, money, political, entertainment, recognition, and boredom.

I went with multiple reasons as my number one because it only makes sense that you have more than one thing hounding on you until eventually you’re broken down and do things that are not legal. Especially in the cyber world where it is more risky to be fooling around and trying to hack into someone’s information. Hackers know that there is more a possibility that they will get caught than not, therefore it would take more to drive them to do such thing.

Revenge would be the top thing other than multiple reason. From what I have seen whether online in blogs or in movies that involve hacking or cyber security. When you do something bad to someone whether you are stealing, making fun of someone, or impersonating someone there is going to be some motivation to get revenge. People these days do not take things easily and are more than ready to fight back.

I chose money in my next spot because I believe with everything going on a majority of people are looking to have money. Whether they are consistently going in and taking a small amount or doing it just once and taking a large amount, hackers might think it is easy to go in and take without noticing. Whether it is a big company with an enormous amount of money or someone with little to no knowledge of what is happening in their bank account, hackers probably think that they are free willingly taking this money and can come back for more. What they could use this money could be endless, it could be trying to upgrade their setups, helping their family, or even trying to use this money against the person they take it from.

Politically, many of things that I have heard or seen have only been hypothetical or just a possibility that there was someone trying to hack into the votes. Though I have seen of things that were put out to harm the candidates chances because its something bad that they did or seen doing. This makes less sense than more for me because really a hacker can only do so much with little proof of them actually going in and taking this information.

Entertainment seemed right to fit in this spot, there are a small few of people that are looking for entertainment when risking their identity to take information and use it against them. Just for entertainment would mean for me that everything else failed to entertain them so they go to such an extent to do this.

Being recognized in my opinion seems like something where you would only get your five seconds of fame especially with hacking. Yes you did something crazy and it might bring some attention to you, but there will not be an over exaggeration or people trying to know more about you like they would with a celebrity.

Boredom is the least to me because it does not make any sense at all to go out and cause harm to someone else because you are bored. Though it does happen, many would think, why not pick up a book and start learning about something that interests you or pick up a new trait that can build your social character. Why not go out in the world and see new spots you have never seen.
