Artifacts 5

Module 9 was one of my favorites, I thought that this was pretty interesting learn and to see how men and women think different. Also, I thought about how the world sees and perceive certain occupations in America, mainly most is thought to be male dominate. As a side note, I would say that certain types of occupations were male dominant in society but not all. Even though some of it is biased it was still interesting for instance, a nurse would typically be a female occupation because of the nurturing and care.

I chose this picture because even though we cohabit the earth we still witness the same events and emotions. Although we are the same species we still experience different things and interpret different lessons, and values.

Artifacts 4

Module 6 was also one of my favorites. The topic was to elaborate on a moral or a value that is very significant to your life. I mentioned that religion influenced my current womanhood. It is certain that Christianity helped me mainly since it is a true compass to my life. God has always been the center of my life and I was taught that when I was a little girl. Christianity has always been my home against temptation, animosity and much more.

I chose this picture because it symbolizes my hope for tomorrow. It symbolizes Christianity and with Easter coming up it symbolizes all my thoughts and cares in the world. It gives me a sense of direction and whenever I am feeling down, I cast my cares in the lord because he directs my path.

Artifacts 3

For my next best artifact I would say that this one hits home because it describes black women. And for me I am a black woman too as well as my mother, aunts and cousins. Many times black women are often described as hostile, rude or they have a resting bitch fact but we too are humans and should be treated as such. It takes a village to raise a person and with everything going on, I believe that black women are the strongest because not only did they have to be but that was the only choice to be. Not only are women strong but black women too.

I chose this picture because it views a black woman in a different light where she is smile, and looking strong and confident. She is not being put down by society, men or the world. She has her head up and she has a smile.

Artifacts 2

Module 13 was a good one as well. It was good because the ted talk informed people of how their body language is perceived. It is perceived a certain way because the person is slouched, or the person is looking down and not giving the person eye contact etc. I thought that the ted talk was informative on how someone assumes you emotions just in that quick minute and can know whether to hire or fire you and so much more. Even though you might not agree with it but body language is a an essential part of first impressions and nonverbal emotions.

This picture represents Amy the presenter of this ted talk. She gave this ted talk and she gave great advice for body language and how you are perceived in just that quick of a second. It is one of the most essential, non verbal communication factors and can also grant the receiving individual a positive or negative impression of you. Body language is important!

Artifacts 1

Module 10 was the best module for me. This module really had me to think about everything in a different perspective. Specifically it had me to think about time in a different perspective and it really made me evaluate my life on who I valued most. I listed that I would give my parent and my boyfriend (husband now) the longest time because they have been significant and influential in my life and I would do anything for them. They have invested and loved me in a way that I needed the most. Also, even though I did mention that I wouldn’t wait for my brother I would because he has always been there for me 🙂

I chose this picture because it is the ultimate symbolism of time. Whenever you see it you know what it is and there is no questions asked. Time waits for no one and spend your time with the ones you love and the ones that have invested in you.
