The new age of technology has made the day to day life extremely versatile; However, This has made the overall security and well-being of people vulnerable based on the information stored on your device. Security Engineers play a pretty important role in protecting businesses and companies from hacking into accounts and stealing intellectual property. Firstly, computers are there to help us be safer in our environment. Our cars have security systems to tell us if someone is trying to break into them. Without computers, this would not be possible. People are now living longer with the help of computers in the hospitals by tracking vitals etc. With that being said, what humans can’t do in an operating room computers can. Computers can also alert and respond to different problems in a more timely fashion than a person, therefore, making the process more efficient. Computers have made it possible for remote access to cellular towers, which can be very useful in terms of an emergency. There are many good things computers have done for the world in recent years; however, there are many things that computers have access to that we don’t always know about. Leaving files open in the background on the computers can leave anyone vulnerable to a hacktivist attack. This leads me to my first point in that no matter how secure computers may seem overall, they aren’t always secure. Furthermore, too much time in front of a phone or computer monitor may negatively affect eyesight. And sitting in front of a computer for too long without exercise can also cause weight gain and other abnormal health issues. Computers have made us overly reliant on technology for day to day things. Such as ordering food to be delivered or having someone bring groceries to your house. While computers are great many health officials warn that if there isn’t enough exercise being performed throughout the day many underlying health conditions may begin to appear.
