In addition, write about your lowest ranked category and why you think it would interest you the least?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n From most to least interesting, I would put these categories in the following order: design and development, protection and defense, investigation, implementation and operation, and oversight and governance. The category that interests me the most is design and development due to the hands-on nature of this work. Additionally, I have experience with coding and developing tools from my current work role, which falls under this category. I enjoy analyzing the code behind the software and designing logic to automate repetitive tasks for the analysts that use the tools. One work role in particular I find to be really interesting is operational technology cybersecurity engineering, which is responsible for designing and securing industrial systems in the face of cyber incidents (NICCS, 2025). Oftentimes industrial systems are overlooked in regard to cybersecurity because they appear to just be an on\/off switch on a manufacturing line. However, over time they have proven to be vulnerable to cyber attacks in cases like Stuxnet or Ukraine\u2019s entire electrical supply being shut down. <\/p>\n\n\n\n My second category, protection and defense, interests me due to the importance and the ability to keep a system secure. This category is particularly interesting because it requires a lot of real-time problem solving and comes with great responsibility to keep a system secure and operational. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The third category that I am interested in is investigation. As I mentioned before, I enjoy the hands-on aspect, which investigation offers. I also appreciate the behind-the-scenes opportunity to seek and provide justice for wrongdoing or cyber crimes through investigation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Lastly, my least favorite category is oversight and governance due to the heavy presence of policy in this area of cybersecurity. While I believe that knowing and understanding policy is important, I find this category to be less engaging and less exciting compared to the more \u201chands on keyboard\u201d categories that exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Review the NICE Workforce Framework.
