The career of digital forensics closely relates to the social sciences and often draws upon social science principles, as digital forensics investigators must analyze and interpret human behavior and motivations. Digital forensics investigators must also consider ethical concerns while performing job duties. Investigators utilize digital evidence, examining the interaction of human behavior and technology. Davin discusses the importance of being covert and discreet during his work to avoid leaks into the public. Additionally, Davin provides a practical and realistic look into digital forensics, pointing out that many experts in the digital field can access devices entirely remotely and without permission (TEDx Talks, 2015). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Davin\u2019s progression from IT and accounting into digital forensics was inspiring, and highlights the potential benefits of taking career risks. Although he did not have prior background or experience with digital forensics, Davin allowed his curiosity to drive his career. This paid off for Davin and allowed him to find his niche, as he discussed during his TedTalk. Davin has clearly learned much about digital forensics over his seventeen year career, and demonstrates expertise and knowledge within the field. This dissection of digital forensic and Davin\u2019s career progression has provided a much clearer picture of how a person may begin a career as a digital forensics investigator. Although I have not previously considered digital forensics investigation as a career, I appreciate the insight into a different avenue of cybersecurity, and this knowledge will benefit me as I enter my professional career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
