Artifact 2:
So for my top artifact number two I went with module number seven‘s artifact. I chose this one to go with because this one is all about your attitude on certain situations which is some thing everyone should do. It also has a behavior survey in it which allows you to Look at how you view yourself and your behaviors as a person. We often feel the need to reduce inconsistencies and restore balance between attitudes and behaviors because we believe society will judge us if we say that we want to do something but we never do it and it can make you come off as what a lot of people would say is fake. Like the attitude that students will speak out more if they read the assigned readings but my behavior as I don’t always read the assigned materials before class even though I agree that students engage more and do better in class if they read the assigned materials before class. This disconnect and inconsistency is something that I haven’t really changed or anything just yet but hopefully one day in the future I will agree that my behavior matches my attitude.
From what I learned in this activity it really showed me the differences between your attitude and your behavior. And that most times your attitude and your behavior don’t always link up at the same time. Like my attitude towards homelessness is that it is a serious social problem that needs attention but my behavior towards it is that I haven’t done anything personally to address that problem which shows inconsistency between my attitude and my behavior. This really expanded my knowledge of attitude/behavior by allowing me to see where I have an inconsistency in what I say and what I do. As human services professionals, which is what I major in, we have to say what we mean and do what we say for our client to trust us and to feel completely comfortable around us. My visual representation is a quote that says “if you want to change attitudes, start with a change in behavior,” which is what this whole module seven archive was about to show inconsistencies with your attitude and your behavior and that how is there a way for you to fix it and why do we as humans feel the need to reduce those inconsistencies between our attitude and our behavior.

Artifact 1:
I chose module three archives which is the idea that similarity leads to attraction and that some other people view that opposites lead to attraction. I chose this because last semester for my information literacy and research class I did the similarities and differences between similar type people and opposite type people and how they are friends and attracted to one another. The idea of opposites attract intrigues me because typically you’re not supposed to be attracted to what is not like you.
What I learned from the activity is that the people are attracted to similar things. Humans find kinship and attraction with people who share the same similarities as them and the same interests. It doesn’t surprise me though because humans like familiarity so why wouldn’t we want to find that in a relationship aspect too. This is expanded on my knowledge because it gives me more examples on top of the research I have already done for the other class last semester. Along with it being something that I can use in my day to day life when looking for a companion.
