In criminology, a crime is a violation of a law that is unjust and can be sanctioned by the state as a felony and misdemeanor. In the world of cybercrime, it would be the same concept in that the crime is a violation of a law in the cyber world of committing an act of deviance using technologies. There is white collar crime, which can happen at a workplace or an employee committed an offense (or someone took place as an employee to commit the offense), and traditional crimes which involve harmful orientation, meaning the act has the intent to hurt someone, ethical orientation, which means to determine whether the behavior is ethical rather than criminal, and that the crime is deviant, meaning it had malicious intent toward someone or something in the cyber world. Many of these would involve cyberbullying, child pornography, hacking, internet spying, public displays of terrorism, etc. All of these cybercrimes are more reasons why industries, business, schools, and workplaces should all be taking the extra step to being more aware of the use of their technology and who has the ability to access it.
