Cassandra Rivera Kana is a Surgical Technologists located in Tempe, AZ. It is to say Cassandra did not have a easy, quick path to get to her current position in her career! Cassandra Rivera Kana resembles a hard, motivated, and committed worker we cares about her patients! Throughout my interview I learned a variety of things through Cassandra. I learned about her path and how she got to where she is now! Between going to college, serving in the U.S. Army, and raising 3 kids! Cassandra was a great Health Professional to interview because she see’s things for how they truly are. Cassandra spoke about the hard realities of being a health professional, and that not everyday, week, or month is going to be a breeze. Cassandra filled me in on the types of roles and responsibilities she holds as a Surgical Technologists; they are to include: inventory on medical supplies and ordering supplies, patient advocacy, assisting nurses and doctors in the OR, assisting with anesthesia, and x- ray tech. Because of Cassandra’s hard work, she was able to gain a widespread of responsibilities within her day to day operations. One of Cassandra’s most rewarding moments in her career was when her boss saw she had the potential to learn and apply the skills of how to suture. Her boss paid for all of the expenses of the training and sent her to get the training she needed to be able to suture in office. This was a big deal to Cassandra because in the Army they did not allow soldiers to suture, and Cassandra had always had a interest in wanting to learn. One takeaway I took from this interview is not to hold pressure on one career. Do what makes you happy, and if where you are currently at is not it, moving on is okay!

I want to give my appreciation and thanks one last time to Cassandra Rivera Kana. It meant a significant amount to me for you to take the time, and answer my questions!
