Blog 7: Self regulation and emotional intelligence are basically one in the same. Both are reflections of our emotions and can ted to get us in trouble. Emotional intelligence to m means being aware when your emotions are getting involved and knowing when is the right time for them to be involved. I show good emotional intelligence typically when I decide to listen to people and try to help them understand their situation from a different perspective because you never know what they other people/ person involved has going on. What you say to someone could really hurt them mentally and emotionally and speaking without rational thinking could just make things worse for everyone involved

blog 6: In my opinion, the Ted talk did great highlighting the dehumanizing of women in society today more specifically in ads. Women have such a hard time living within this society when there are people constantly judging our every move. It’s stressful it’s degrading and overall just completely unnecessary. I love how she also adds that not all men are the source of the problem and applauds the ones who are not. There are a lot oof men out there who agree that women are not treated wit the respect they deserve but majority of them do not see it that way and that’s the problem. Women in ads are typically expected to draw a mans attention and the best way to do that is through sex appeal. But, this idea has also caused many women to feel insecure because they do not look like the ads. No one should feel insecure about themselves because of the image that society puts out but sadly that is our society and that’s something that we as a whole need to change.

Blog 1: After reading the objective outlines, my expectations for this class are to get a better understanding of my major and where I want and need to narrow in at. The objectives of the class are outlining the procedures social psychologist use tot test hypothesis about the behavior of individuals and of groups, explain how attitudes are formed and changed ad to be able to make connections, integrate learning between courses and to outside experiences, along with some other things. These things are important to my studies because I want to be able to detect mental health issues in younger kids and many of them are unable to communicate or have a hard time doing so. I feel as if all of these objectives are more like a need-to-know basis for the specific study. With that being said, I will succeed in this class by showing up to class, taking notes and completing all assignments. As long as I stay on top of things I feel as if this class will not be so challenging.
