Hello, my name is Tajjani Smith and I’m from the Bronx, New York. I was raised in a Jamaican household with a mother, grandmother, sister and father. but once I turned 14, I was moved to Virgina, New Kent Virgina to be exact with just my mother and sister. I then attended New Kent high school once graduating there I had to choose what college planned on attending and you can guess I chose to come to old dominion because not only was it very close to home, but I knew a very good amount of people that planned on attending and once, I began to do my own research and see if this was the campus for me it was a very great fit for me. The people here are very kind except for the Qdoba workers. I do have a few interests and hobbies one being hair and the other hanging out and spending quality time with close friends. A few facts people know about me is I have a dog and my favorite food is Jamaican food and if you don’t like it your taste buds need to mature.
The major that I intend on pursuing is nursing. I didn’t always want to be a nurse though I wanted to be a lawyer so bad at one point in life until I watched a YouTube video of “the day inside the life of a lawyer’ and when I tell you that was never a thought in my head again it was never a thought. I knew I really enjoyed watching things that had anything to do with medicine and health. So, I knew medicine was the path I was going to go down. I also have lots of nurses and doctors in my family and seeing all the money that they are making it did play an influence on my choice as well. I’ve also experienced lots of scenarios where I was basically forced into acting as if I was a nurse. one situation being the other day when my friend Kema came into my room and his friend slammed his finger in the door and there was blood everywhere, and take a guess at what I did, I got my first aid kit and played nurse.
