Activity Summary #2

Overall this internship has helped broaden my knowledge and understanding of all aspects that are implemented within the hospital, that are used to help improve patient satisfaction and ensure the effectiveness of care is being provided for all. Specifically, working in the Guest Services department I was exposed to each department and staff member that works within the department. From checking in guests/visitors at the front desks and issuing visitors passes, to delivering flowers to those who have been recently been admitted, and asking how they stay has been so far at Sentara, to listening to any complaints and grievances patients have had and advocating for them because Sentara motto is “because we care”.
