I chose to create this meme as a summation of my thoughts about cellular biology because proteins literally have a funciton in almost every single aspect in cellular processes, thus having a function in the day to day function of any biological life form. In this meme, Jerry from Rick and Morty is folding himself at the request of Rick because of his skepticism of him being trapped in a machine that traps his mind. Relating to the meme, we know that after transcription of a protein, as the strand gets to the other side of the membrane, it begans to refold onto itself. After transcription is complete and the protein is in its target area, whether it be the cytoplasm, the nucleoplasm, the endoplasmic reticulum, etc., it continues on to its intended target to resume the function with which it was purposed. Not only that, the folding structure of the protein is extremely critical to it’s function. So it’s folding holds very high importants in regards to living things.
