Cyber Technology on Workplace Deviance:

Cyber Technology has made workplace deviance much easier to execute within an organization or company. According to Scott Cook “Cyber technology has created new opportunities because it is much harder to find the person when they are doing the harmful acts behind a computer compared when they are in person and can be caught on a security camera for example.” It makes systems vulnerable and allows for those who are doing the action to cause more damage to their systems. They can also cause damage for longer durations of time. For example, if someone was fired from a job they could download sensitive information and sell it to a different corporation. According to APA PsycNet, “Workplace cyber deviance is an important topic, as this type of misbehavior can lead to a number of negative work outcomes.” Things such as cyberbullying, cyberloafing, cybercrime, etc. The basis of it is that cyber technology can help those in a workplace cause damage to their systems and do bad things that could lead to more.
