- My current study habits include memorization through rereading, practice questions, and flash cards. For Statistics I mainly use practice problems, Sociology flashcards, Microbiology, rereading and flashcards, interpreting the American Past I also reread. While in class the best way for me to retain and interpret the information is to write thorough notes, pay attention, and make inferences during lectures.
- As of right now my lowest grade is in Sociology, the best way to up this grade is to study hard and memorize all the terms and concepts for the quiz this weekend. The grade for this class is a B, we only have one grade so far so the better I study and retain the information the better the grade will get. I plan on making flash cards for the quizzes and midterm coming up.
- For Sociology I will plan specific times for study prep, studying, and homework. I study best when I plan a hard 10-15 minutes on and then a 2 minute break. For this class I probably study 4 hours a week (minimum) outside of class. I will spend more time on the vocabulary terms for this class. As of now I have not reached out for tutoring because there is only one grade in right now and I don’t think I adequately prepared myself for it. I do study for this class and my motivation is there which is why I think this quiz will be better than the last. My confusions can be fixed with term memorization and creating little phrases to help me remember. My exam preparation will be practice questions and flashcards.
- One new study technique I can apply to class is better communication in lecture and with my professors in general.
- One technique I can try outside of class to better understand content is switching up my study locations. I mainly study in the same three places and I think new scenery will help me because I can associate certain content with different locations.
