This was one of my favorite assignments this far. I love talking about my relationship and learning more about myself. In this assignment I learned the categories of love that I was strongest and weakest in. This can help me within my relationship, I now know what what I like and don’t like. This assignment was personally relevant to me because I am in a 2 year relationship and my answers were based off of us. I even shared the assignment with him the next time we were together so he could take a look at the questions. I think those are good questions that couples can go over together and will benefit the relationship. We had an assignment somewhat like this in my intro to psychology class where we wrote a similar paper on relationships.

Assignment 3 was to watch the video about Michael Richards’ tirade against hecklers in a comedy club. This video was extremely disturbing and shocking to hear and watch. This assignment was personally relevant to me because, I am an African American woman. The racist slurs that he was saying were directed at 2 other men of the same race as me. This video made me lose respect for the man because, no matter how mad you get you should always be able to hold your composure on stage, and especially refrain from saying things like that. Watching this video and then completing the assignment relates to another class I am taking where we have to reflect on different films and type up a paper.

This assignment was to write a two page paper on how photos represent the self-concept. This was a fun assignment to me, because I love taking and reflecting back on pictures. I love making memories with the people I love the most. This assignment taught me how to really get into the details of a photo. This assignment was personally relevant to me because, I have always been into capturing the moment whether its a planned photo or an off guard. Being able to describe and look at what everyone is doing in the picture was a different experience for me, because normally you don’t pay that much attention to the pictures. Just being able to break the photos down was something new that I learned and never payed attention to until this assignment.

The assignment was to read the text about Heuristics and answer the questions that were given to us. We had to put this in the form of an essay, that had to be no less than two pages. In this assignment I learned the three key heuristics. Prior to this assignment I didn’t know that we used heuristics in every day life when making decisions. My first semester as a freshman I took intro to psychology and we learned about something similar. This assignment was personally relevant to me because, now I can control my decision making in the right way. For example, I will be more careful using the representativeness heuristic not to stereotype or judge too fast. I chose this picture because it demonstrate how people may misjudge others by using the representativeness heuristic.
