My name is Hunter, and I am an undergraduate student at Old Dominion University. I am seeking a Major in Biology with a minor in Financial Management. I am a firm believer in the saying “A Jack of All Trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one.” I have a plethora of interests, but I especially love technology, and understanding mechanisms behind why something may function the way it does. This is what led me to my love of biology. I fell in love with the field of biology as I began to receive more and more in-depth instruction on biological function within the body. My love for understanding mechanisms does not just limit me to biology, however, as I also enjoy learning about mechanisms behind money movements within the economy, as well as logistics, and computer science. Logistics is an area of study where determining the fastest, most cost effective way to transport something is the goal, and optimizing the mechanism by which something is transported is very intriguing to me, in the same way optimizing a chunk of code to more efficiently execute a task makes me want to constantly learn more about the programming. I generally enjoy optimization itself, and a more comprehensive understanding of whatever it is that I am optimizing will assist me throughout the process. I aim to be well rounded in my education, rather than extremely specialized for a specific task. I also aim to be easy to train, and a quick learner, and I also understand that a good foundation for knowledge always begins with effective communication.
