In this class, we wrote 3 major papers. The three papers include a memoir, rhetorical analysis, and a food review. Each had a minimum word count of 800 words.
For my memoir, I wrote about the death of my brother. I discussed the mental and emotional challenges I dealt with and how his death changed me as a person. Although it is a sorrowful topic, I find a way to bring the positivity into this paper, hence the title, Learning From Death. Writing this paper was difficult for me, but it was eye-opening and helped me mentally.
For the rhetorical analysis, we watched a Netflix documentary called 13th. We had to write about the persuasion, how it used ethos, pathos, and logos, and also had to give a summary of the film. I had never written a rhetorical analysis so it was new to me, but it was a learning experience.
Lastly, for the Food Review, we went as a class to a breakfast place called Handsome Biscuit. We ordered food off the menu and did taste tests. It was an exciting experience. I love food, so this was my favorite paper to write, although, it was tricky finding the perfect adjectives.
