As an intern at Harmony it has been a pleasure to work with them. I have never been to a senior living community in my life because I never had to. The interactions that I’ve had with the staff and residents have been amazing. I have learned so much about being a part of a good team. Interacting with the residents has been so fun because they all have their own personalities. I have learned a lot of organizational skills and conflict resolution while interning here.  The duties that pertain to what I do is to walk the building when I come in to make sure the building is tour ready and if there is anything that needs to be addressed to the Executive Director. Attending the morning meetings or stand ups is very interesting to me because I get to see all the directors and what the status is of the building. Morning meetings are important to have to make sure that everyone is on the same page for the day to discuss any positive or negative things that have happened within the building.Every week I have been with one of the directors to see what they do and complete projects with them. The first week we went mystery shopping meaning that we toured other senior living communities to help complete a competitive analysis. The second week we worked with the Healthcare Director and filed many medical records. The past two weeks we have been working with the Activities Director. Working with her has been fun because we get to do activities with the residents and attend outings. We have been to the aquarium and restaurant outings. This past week we were with the Business Director and went through resident’s statements and sent them out. The first half of the internship has been knowledgeable and fun because I get to meet new people as well make connections with them.
