Activity Summary 2

As an intern at Harmony it was a pleasure to work with them. I have never been to a senior living community in my life because I never had to like what I said in the first activity summary. The interactions that I’ve had with the staff and residents have been amazing. I have learned so much about being a part of a good team. Interacting with the residents has been so fun because they all have their own personalities and I will definitely miss them. The last 100 hours with Harmony we continued to do morning meetings to make sure everyone is on the same page for the day. I also was a part of some interviews as far as asking the questions which was neat because I’ve never done that before. I went over residents’ statements with the business manager to see how everything is added to their bill. It’s also important to meet new residents so they feel welcomed and that’s exactly what me and the other intern did. It was nice to get to know them and encourage them to try the activities that go on in the building. I did a lot of filing throughout the last couple of months as well as created files for new residents and employees. The last two weeks of the internship I was concierge for one day which was fun because I have experience at the front desk. I answered phone calls and checked people in and out of the building. Overall, I have gained organizational skills and conflict resolution skills as an intern at Harmony. I have gained more confidence in what I do and I hope that I can transfer that over into the real world.
