Goals

Improve problem solving: In the healthcare field it is important to know how to manage various issues and conflicts. During the morning meetings, the executive director is always willing to solve issues that the staff may have. To achieve this goal I can develop better assessment tools to help prevent conflicts. Also, evaluating the current process I use to solve problems and add new ideas to the process. Lastly, I would be more creative when it comes to a solving an issue or conflict.

Be more vocal: I am a person that can get anxious at times when I don’t understand something or worried about what the outcome may be. It’s important as a healthcare administrator to be confident in what they are speaking about. I can achieve this goal by talking to more of the residents and staff in the building. Also, asking more questions about things that I’m unsure about is helpful. Getting to know everyone in the building brings in a sense of comfort and it’s important to have a good work relationship with your staff.

Sales/Marketing: When it comes to sales and marketing it is something that I don’t quite understand yet because it deals with a lot of numbers which isn’t very interesting to me. The first week we helped out with a competitive analysis meaning you compare the different prices and different renovations that the senior living communities are doing. When doing this I learned a lot about the communities and what they all have in common. I hope to achieve this by doing small tasks that are related to sales and marketing. Also, learning about the trends that are going on within the communities.
