I interviewed Jane E Kyung Jung, she is a registered nurse working at VCU medical respiratory care unit, she obtained a four year BSM program and took NCLEX which is a board exam for nurses.
Nurse Jung has gained her interest in the field of nursing at a very young age. She grew up in South Korea watching American medical dramas which she first found interest in, then she had the privilege of being able to go to a medical mission trip to Magnolia at the age of 12 and shadowed a surgeon. This was her official starting point of her journey to becoming a nurse. She was fascinated by how surgery could save one’s life and continued to go to multiple other medical mission trips.
There were many good points that nurse Jung has opened my eyes to being a health professional in the medical field. However, the main point that I took away from this interview was the effort and dedication that is needed in order to succeed in this career was a lot more rigorous than I realized; but it is extremely rewarding knowing that I can make a difference in peoples’ lives.
