Reflection 3

During the third set of 50 hours of my cybersecurity internship, the emphasis on
teamwork became clear as we engaged in a comprehensive risk assessment for Origami Software Solutions for Beth Vincent. Our team, comprising individuals with diverse skills and expertise, collaborated well with this project.

Lee emerged as our leader, organizing our efforts, and ensuring effective communication
with Beth. This helped us to delegate tasks which helped keep us on track and prepare effectively and efficiently. Dan, with his public speaking skills, played a role in engaging with Beth, asking all the right questions, and ensuring that we have all the necessary information needed for our report. Meanwhile, Elizabeth’s attention to detail shone through in her creation of a visually appealing presentation, enhancing the professionalism and impact of our deliverables.

My role centered on conducting in-depth research to identify strategies for improving
Origami Software Solutions in alignment with Valor Cybersecurity’s top 10 checklist. This
involved exploring avenues for enhancing Incident Response Plans, refining onboarding and
offboarding procedures, and optimizing change management protocols. Despite our individual
assignments, we collaborated whenever we struggled or needed feedback. Our collective efforts
resulted in the creation of a comprehensive report for Beth. Currently, we are gearing up and
practicing our presentation.

Beyond our primary task, our visit to Assembly provided a firsthand glimpse into the
nurturing environment that fosters the growth of small businesses. It was great to see the
abundance array of resources and support available to entrepreneurs. In reflection, these 50 hours deepened my understanding of the importance of teamwork in cybersecurity.
