When applying to ODU’s nursing program I will also apply to other nearby colleges in hopes of getting into at least one of them. I will be doing the concurrent program for nursing and will be applying to Thomas Nelson Community College and Tidewater Community College. Thomas Nelson has an application deadline of February 3rd – March 31st. In order to meet the requirements for Thomas Nelson, you have to receive a C or better in ENG111, BIO141, HLTH230, PSYCH230, and SDV10. Along with passing those classes, you must submit your high school and college transcripts. Their contact information for applications is on https://tncc.edu/advising/resources. Tidewater Community College accepts applications January 15th – February 15 for fall admissions. In order to meet their requirements to apply you must have a 2.5 GPA or higher, take a nursing admissions assessment, complete a self-assessment, provide a background check, receive a C or better in ENG111, BIO141, HLTH230, PSYCH230, SDV10, and MTH154 as a prerequisite, you must also attend a mandatory information session. Their phone number is 757-822-1111.
I chose this parallel plan because it’s the best fit for me based on what I have as my current goals. I have always dreamed of becoming a nurse, and nothing will get into the way of that dream coming true. If I do not get accepted into ODU’s nursing program, that will not stop me from becoming a nurse.
