My attended major at ODU is Nursing. I chose Nursing as my major because I’ve always had a interest in the health care field. To be able to have the opportunity to help and care for my community and everyone around me is my dream job. I’ve always wanted a career where aiding to others was my main priority. Working in a hospital setting is also something I see myself doing in my future, so nursing was the right decision for me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nuclear Medicine is my parallel major if I do not get accepted into the nursing program at ODU. An interesting fact about our nuclear medicine program is that it’s one of 75 nuclear medicine technology programs in the United States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A career I could pursue with this major is Nuclear Medicine Technologist. They prepare and measure radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies using a variety of radioisotope equipment. They also prepare stock solutions, subject patients to radiation, and execute blood volume and lots more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
