Protocol- Draft
Observation Protocol for Medication-Assisted Treatment Facility
I plan to conduct observations within the program that I am evaluating and I hope to be able to see what a typical appointment for a client looks like. The first step that I would make sure to do is to respect client privacy. Clients receiving MAT have the right to privacy, so it is important to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA regulations. I will obtain written consent from the patient before observing any treatment. Next, I will observe the process of the appointment and look to see if there are any inconveniences in the process for the client that sticks out to me. Next, I will observe the client during their appointment to see if they are comfortable within their environment. If they appear uncomfortable, I may ask the client after their appointment if they are uncomfortable with anything in the program.

The main purpose of the interview will be to see if the program is efficient in helping people in their recovery and if they feel comfortable with the services they are given when they come to the facility. These questions can be tailored to the specific needs and goals of the medication-assisted treatment program and can be administered in various formats, such as paper surveys, online surveys, or in-person interviews. The people that will be taking the surveys are the people that are receiving services from the program that I’m evaluating.
