Once required paperwork is in place, your site will also be listed in the&nbsp;<strong>Agency Directory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Can I share employment opportunities with ODU students as well?<\/strong><br>Yes. Please email any job postings to the Internship Coordinator, and we will share them with students and recent graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What paperwork is required before an intern can begin hours?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/hmsvsitedirectory\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32424\/2025\/09\/HMSV-MOU.pdf\">Memorandum of Understanding (MOU<\/a>)<\/strong>&nbsp;must be on file for each agency (only one required per agency).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/sites.wp.odu.edu\/hmsvsitedirectory\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/32424\/2025\/11\/HMSV-Internship-Agreement-Form.pdf\">Internship Agreement Form<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;must be completed and approved for&nbsp;<strong>each student each semester<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Both must be finalized before students may begin internship hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Who is my main point of contact once I have an intern?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The&nbsp;<strong>Internship Instructor<\/strong>&nbsp;will reach out to you at the start of the semester and is your contact for any matters concerning that specific intern throughout the semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The&nbsp;<strong>Internship Coordinator (Jamie Hartsfield,&nbsp;<a>jhartsfi@odu.edu<\/a>)<\/strong>&nbsp;is your contact for overall internship process and site compliance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What qualifications are required for Site Supervisors?<\/strong><br>A supervisor must have either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A&nbsp;<strong>master\u2019s degree in a related field<\/strong>, OR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A&nbsp;<strong>bachelor\u2019s degree with at least 5 years of experience<\/strong>&nbsp;in human services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What supervision is expected of me as a Site Supervisor?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Provide at least&nbsp;<strong>one full hour of direct supervision weekly<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Focus supervision on the intern\u2019s client interactions, professional behaviors, ethics, diversity awareness, and growth areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Review and sign the intern\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>weekly time logs<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete&nbsp;<strong>midterm and final evaluations<\/strong>&nbsp;of the intern.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How many hours will the intern complete?<\/strong><br>Each student must complete a&nbsp;<strong>400-hour, one-semester internship<\/strong>, including at least&nbsp;<strong>100 direct contact hours<\/strong>&nbsp;with clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What courses have interns already completed before beginning?<\/strong><br>Interns have completed core courses such as: Interpersonal Relations, Human Services Methods, Case Management &amp; Crisis Intervention, Program Development, Diversity Issues, Psychoeducational Groups, Family Guidance, and other applied courses. This ensures they are prepared for hands-on practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Where do interns complete their placements?<\/strong><br>Students are placed in Hampton Roads, throughout Virginia, and beyond \u2014 based on their location and interest.
