Assignment Takeaway

Takeaway 1

I have always had a lot of hobbies growing up, I wanted to be a police officer and a basketball player at one point! After many years of trying new things from sports, clubs, and volunteering, I fell in love with healthcare and exercise science. Planning a career in the health science field has been stressful and tiring since I had to make sure I was making the right steps and setting myself up for success. People tend to get distracted or discouraged seeing the long path ahead of them, but for me, understanding and truly wanting this career path has only made me want to push harder.

Takeaway 2

My personal takeaway from this assignment was being able to reflect into my own self confidence as a person. Growing up with my family doing their best to put whatever they could on the table has really humbled me and made me appreciate the things around me even more. Going and doing well in school and growing as a man makes my family the proudest of me which motivates and gives me more confidence than anything else. I want to be someone that my siblings and family can look up to so with that mindset, it fuels me even more to be determined and give my 100% in things that I do. For example, I did a volunteer event at Saint Mary’s School of the Disabled Children. I was able to be someone that they looked up to and I did my best to guide them and help them improve on their leadership skills.

Takeaway 3

Understanding emotions can be such a difficult thing when you are young and do not really have the guidance to look up to. Like every other kid, I listened to almost every type of music. From classics, R&B, rock n’ roll, and jazz. I found love in it and it always made me feel productive when I work. Music has a connection with not only people, but it builds a bond with oneself as well. It can open conversion, make new friendships, and also make you feel good. I used music as a self reliever and as a hobby. It made time seem like it was going by faster. For example, whenever I start my studies, I always find myself listening to music to keep me going.

Takeaway 4

There are many different ways to study, writing down notes is one of my favorite ways to study because it is neat and I am able to see exactly what I need to understand. I enjoy highlighting which brings my notes to life and is easy on the eyes for me to remind myself of something. Being able to know what I did wrong or got wrong on a question really does enhance my understanding since I am able to see where I went wrong. This honestly just helps me understand better because it is another way of learning new material. You do not know what you truly know until you have been tested.
