Hello everyone, my name is Charles Howe, but I just go by CJ. I‘m a Junior here at ODU that transferred from TCC. I am a Psychology major and really enjoy understanding how we work. In this case, I chose this class because I registered pretty late and this was not only open, but seemed the most interesting compared to the other available classes. In addition, my goals are…well completely opposite of each other. One of the fields I looked at and have an interest in is Industrial Organizational Psychology. For those who don‘t know what that is, the definition from the APA website is “The specialty of industrial–organizational psychology (also called I/O psychology) is characterized by the scientific study of human behavior in organizations and the work place.” It is essentially analyzing the work environment and seeing what can be improved in it. Since I enjoy the Psychology as well as Sociology of humans, I thought this would be perfect. The other has essentially nothing to do with psychology, but I can use what I learn in it. That other plan is that I would like to teach English as a second language in Japan. I plan on minoring in Japanese next semester, so I‘m thinking this is my road I‘d like to take. Who knows, I‘ll see where these next two years take me. On that note, I shall end my essay of an introduction. A pleasure to meet you all and good luck on your future endeavors!
